The Transfusion Transmissible Infections – National Reference Laboratory participated in the 2019 NRL Asian Workshop on Quality held in Hanoi, Vietnam on March 4-5, 2019.

The workshop consisted of 8 different sessions each with themes related to quality of infectious diseases testing. Formal presentations from speakers within the Asian region shared their experiences in implementing quality improvements and NRL-Australia staff presented the latest information in regard to quality control and the external quality assessment scheme.

The TTI-NRL also presented their research entitled, “Prevalence of Antibodies to Hepatitis B core Antigen Among Hepatitis B Surface Antigen-Negative Blood Donors in the Philippines: Preliminary Results.”

The workshop was designed to allow individuals to share their stories and experiences in successful implementation of quality improvements as a means to inspire and help others achieve similar outcomes in their own countries.
