Rationale/ Background
It is the primary role of the ethics committee to safeguard the rights, dignity and well-being of human participants in research. Toward this end, it is important to improve the capacity of ethics committee members, to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills that will make them competent and efficient in making quality review of research documents that is in accordance with the existing national and international guidelines. This course will also discuss effective documentation of review, the monitoring process as well as efficient management of research documents.
