The training is intended to provide participants knowledge on the current rabies situation in the Philippines, updates on management of human rabies, animal bites and adverse reactions to vaccination, updates on rabies diagnosis and on-going control programs in the Philippines and cold chain management, The training also aims to improve the participants’ proficiency in intradermal administration of rabies vaccine and in the administration of rabies immunegobulin.

The new WHO and DOH guidelines on animal bite management were released in 2018. All health workers who have undergone Animal Bite Training before February 2018 need to undergo a refresher course.
