RITM strongly believes that the goal to control and eliminate infectious and tropical diseases requires the efforts of the whole nation. Empowerment of more individuals brings us closer to this goal.
With training as one of the main thrusts of RITM, we ensure that the knowledge and skills necessary for the diagnosis, control, and prevention of infectious and tropical diseases reach the country’s health responders.
Through its Laboratory Research Division (LRD), RITM shares its expertise to other laboratories through various trainings aimed at building laboratory technical capacity in infectious disease microbiology.
Through its Clinical Research Division (CRD), RITM conducts capacity-building and training activities to enhance the clinical skills of the country’s medical workers.
In support of continuing education, we organize and conduct the RITM LabCon, a biannual postgraduate course, open to all medical technologists, pathologists, and other laboratory specialties.
In 2010, RITM was designated as the World Health Organization- Regional Training Center (WHO-RTC) for Good Practices in Health Research in the WHO Western Pacific Region.
