True to the mandate of the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, the Clinical Research Division (CRD) serves to link the institute to the patients and other stakeholders in need of its clinical expertise, diagnostic facilities, and research capabilities. Driven by its three main thrusts namely, research, training, and service, the division aims to improve health outcomes among Filipinos afflicted with infectious, tropical, and dermatological diseases. RITM, through the CRD, provides inpatient hospital services as well as other outpatient clinical services which include an HIV Clinic, TB DOTS Clinic, Animal Bite, and a General Infectious Disease Outpatient Clinic.


ANIMAL BITE CENTER

As the leading center for the training and skills-building for rabies and animal bite management, the RITM Animal Bite Clinic provides comprehensive treatment for patients who suffer from animal bites (such as dogs, cats, rodents, etc.) which includes, but not limited to, post-exposure anti-rabies and anti-tetanus vaccinations. The clinic is open from Monday to Friday (except holidays), 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Registration time is from 7:30 am to 12noon.


DERMATOLOGY CLINIC

Patients with skin problems can receive quality and comprehensive care offered by the RITM Dermatology Clinic. The team of Philippine Dermatologic Society-accredited consultants and residents provide treatment to skin conditions of various complexity which includes holistic acne management, cauterization, phototherapy, and leprosy among others.

 


GENERAL INFECTIOUS DISEASE OUTPATIENT CLINIC

Equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and diagnostic services, the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine offers outpatient clinical services to patients with infectious and tropical diseases. The General Infectious Disease Outpatient Clinic is open from Mondays thru Fridays (except Thursdays and holidays). Registration time is 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. Consultation Time is 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.


TB-DOTS

The institute also has a DOH-accredited TB-DOTS Clinic that offers free diagnostic (direct sputum smear microscopy, Gene Xpert for MTB/Rif, TB culture) and treatment services for patients with tuberculosis. The RITM TB-DOTS Clinic is open Mondays to Fridays except holidays, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
