To commemorate the 38th founding anniversary of RITM on April 23, the Institute, led by its Laboratory Research Division, held a week-long celebration with the theme Blazing the Trail: Leading the way towards a 21st century tropical and infectious diseases research center.
Throughout the week, various activities were conducted as part of the celebration, starting with the Anniversary Research Forum held on Monday, along with a general assembly and launching of new IT systems. Food booths were also opened to the public.
The Baliktanaw Photo Exhibit opened on Wednesday. Throughout the day over 150 employees were able to avail the free random blood sugar testing, as well as free massages sessions from 9 AM to 4 PM. There was also a healthy cooking demo, and free snacks provided for all. On Thursday, we celebrated the World Malaria Day with an exhibit at the Blamis building.
On Friday, a Thanksgiving mass was held in the morning, followed by PRAISE Awarding and a tribute to the retirees led by the Human Resource Department.
The ’80s-themed anniversary party was held in the afternoon. In her opening remarks for the party, RITM OIC Director Dr. Celia C, Carlos, called for unity and cooperation from everybody. She says:
“Kailangan po natin na sama-samang magtulungan. I urge all of you to take part in helping RITM achieve the impact that we envision to create for the Filipino people. We have to work together for us to achieve our strategic targets.”
Each Division prepared exciting performances that delighted the crowd throughout the program.
