SCIENCE RESEARCH SPECIALIT I

DEPARTMENT OF MICROBIOLOGY

I am a biology graduate interested in doing research in the field of Infectious Diseases and Molecular Biology. I was involved on research projects regarding atypical pneumonia, pathogenic Leptospira spp., and bacterial meningitis. Currently, I am primarily involved in doing COVID-19 research, particularly in the use of saliva as an alternative specimen for SARS-CoV-2 detection, and on the development of a transport medium that would inactivate viruses on- site prior to testing. Ultimately, this will help in developing national policy or guidelines to provide better health response to the community.
