Since 1985, the RITM AIDS Research Group has been doing pioneering work in HIV/AIDS related biomedical and social research, training on multidisciplinary management and setting the standards of care for Filipinos with HIV and AIDS. Started in 1989, it has biggest database of patient cohort, a rich source of clinical and demographic data that has been used to inform local policies and management guidelines. In the recent years, the group has been developing and implementing models on the continuum of HIV care for key affected population that have been cited as best practices and replicated in various parts of the country.
