The National Reference Laboratory for Mycology is the lead laboratory for the diagnosis of medically important fungi. It provides technical and laboratory support for the isolation and identification of fungi. Referral services are also provided to help other agencies or laboratories identify their isolated fungi. The NRL supports the control and prevention of infectious disease through effective laboratory services, research and training, and generating quality data that contributes to the updating and development of policies and guidelines in managing infectious diseases.
