The National Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory (NTRL) conducted the first “Workshop on Essentials of a TB Laboratory Supervision” on June 25-28, 2019 at RITM-NTRL.
“This workshop is the very first of its kind among all the specialized technical trainings being conducted here at the Institute,” says NTRL Laboratory Manager and Training Workshop Facilitator Lorenzo T. Reyes.
According to Reyes, the course is tailor-fit for all laboratory personnel holding supervisory levels or for personnel applying for a higher laboratory supervisory position.
“This is a much compulsory minimum supervisory training requirements of Civil Service HR when applying for a laboratory supervisory level position in a government health facility,” Reyes adds as the training is equivalent to 20 CPD units.
The training provides basic laboratory skills on supervising and managing a laboratory for medical technologist laboratory managers, section or unit head supervisors in a laboratory.
A pilot workshop done at NTRL, the training will eventually be offered to other public practicing medical technologists.
