Globally, 38,276,946 cases of COVID-19 were reported from December 2020 to January 29, 2021. All regions reported a decline in new cases except the Western Pacific Region. This downward trend is largely attributed to relative reductions in case incidence in several countries that contributed the highest numbers in recent months. During the same period, around 722,643 deaths have been reported. Europe, South-East Asia and Western Pacific regions showed a decrease in new deaths compared to last week.
